We are Excited To Be Selling Quality Auto Art that Mirrors and Enhances Your Slot Car Collection!
I don't know about you, but I really appreciate paintings of bowls of fruit and chubby nude women, honest I do! I just don't want them hanging in my home, office or den! I want something that reflects my taste and interests. And that, naturally, is racing and cars! You might have seen the work of some of these great artists, maybe on an event poster or program. But, to most people in the world, the names of the artists featured in this section are not household names. To those of us who love auto racing art, the names of Colin Carter, Randy Owens, Nick Watts, Gavin McLeod, Roger Warrick, Juan Carlos Ferrigno and Robin Thompson to name a few, are right up there with Picasso and Monet!
Here are a couple of my favorite U.S artists: Roger Warrick, a professional illustrator, does originals in acrylics and his work features bold colors and straight lines. Warrick's painting style is very realistic. He started painting and drawing cars and racing scenes as a child and his love continues to this day. General Motors, Watkins Glenn International., Truesports, and Team Rahal are among his long list of automotive related clients. Randy Owens’ work features vibrant color, clean form and crisp edges. Randy has established a strong place on the American motorsports art scene. Some of Randy's clients include Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Daytona 24 Hrs, Road America, and The Detroit Auto Show.
I have three favorite artists that reside in the U.K. John Ketchall, Nicholas Watts, and Colin Carter. John Ketchall is a motorsports artist with over 40 years of experience. His bold, semi-abstract style of work features broad, colorful, strokes of color, capturing the excitement of motorsports beautifully. John's clients include Ferrari, Porsche Club GB, HSBC Bank among others. Nicholas Watt's art is characterized by meticulous realism and exhaustive research of the scenes he depicts. He, the drivers and principals shown in the artwork sign all Nicholas's prints. Colin Carter original oil paintings are usually very large and his realistic work is characterized by close "in your face" composition. Colin's clients include many Formula 1 teams and suppliers as well as many U.S. based race teams. Colin signs his prints; and drivers also sign his Ltd Ed works.
These are true artists, dedicating their lives to a single goal; producing art that captures the vast array of color and excitement that makes up the world of auto racing. Many of these images are rare, limited edition lithos signed and numbered by the artists and drivers themselves. (The autographed BMW litho signed by Juan Montoya in his rookie season is one of my favorites!!) Although these artists all have their own, totally unique style, they all succeed in capturing the essence of motor racing very, very well.
We also have some great posters featured here at HotSlots132. Many of these posters are very rare and hard to come by, and also represent the color and excitement of racing beautifully. It's not exactly a coincidence that much of the art and posters featured here have a slot car theme as well. That is, most of these images are pictures of cars that either are, or will be available as a slot car! After all, this is HotSlots 132!! Please check availability before ordering art and posters, some of these pieces are very rare and are in limited supply.
